Advertising

- The Belgian medical deontology has a clear frame in which doctors are allowed to inform patients about their qualities. Moreover every form of advertising whether direct or indirect is strictly forbidden. (Code of Deontology, Title I, Chapter III, Articles 12 to 17)

- Unfortunately, the Provincial Councils of the College of Physicians have the greatest difficulty, for a variety of reasons, to enforce these principles, particularly since the advent of new technology.

- The RBSPS believes these deontologic rules should be strictly respected both at a personal level (for plastic surgeons) as well as institutional level (for institutions in which both aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery is performed).
