The Royal Belgian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery is the scientific organ of this discipline in Belgium. Our society incorporates exclusively officially accredited plastic surgeons or trainees. The practice by non-doctors of invasive cosmetic procedures is a growing and worrying phenomenon, not only in Belgium. Recently, the Superior Health Council issued the clear and unequivocal opinion that 'not all beauty treatments are without risk'.
It is important for you as a patient to be well informed about the training and skills of the relevant Plastic Surgeon and our society would like to guide you in this.
