Injecting botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, and other fillers is a medical procedure that should only be performed by physicians. They alone are capable of managing the sometimes serious complications.
These procedures must be conducted with the utmost care and expertise, prioritizing the safety and well-being of the patient. Products that are traceable and recognized by the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AFMPS/FAGG) must be used. This should take place in appropriately qualified facilities.
A Belgian physician registered and entitled as a specialist in plastic surgery can be easily identified by their INAMI/RIZIV number, ending in -210.
All patients must also take responsibility and protect themselves by being critical of information spread on social media (often false), avoiding practices associated with advertising or teaser prices (prohibited in Belgium!), and refusing treatments in facilities where no physician is present.
